Introducing Kinderchoir at Immaculate Conception!

There is something very special about hearing the voices of children singing at Mass! This fall, we are excited to introduce Kinderchoir, a new music ministry designed especially for children ages 4–10.

Kinderchoir offers our youngest parishioners an opportunity to share their voices, experience the joy of making music together, and take an active part in the liturgical life of our parish.

What makes Kinderchoir different from a traditional children’s choir? There are no weekly rehearsals!Instead, Kinderchoir is designed around the natural way young children learn—by listening, imitating, and singing along.

Families receive a recording of the current song by email and simply play it regularly at home. Children can listen and sing along in the car, while playing, before dinner, at bath time, or whenever it fits naturally into family life. There is no pressure, and children do not need to know how to read music.

Approximately every five to six weeks, Kinderchoir will sing one song at an

11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, often as a Communion reflection. On Kinderchoir Sundays, children will meet in the choir loft at 10:30 a.m. for a short rehearsal before Mass. They may then sit with their families during Mass and come to the choir loft at Communion to sing.

No previous musical experience is necessary. Children simply need a willingness to sing and have fun!

Kinderchoir is a wonderful way for children to discover that their voices—and their participation—are an important part of our parish community.

If your child loves to sing, we would love to have them be part of Immaculate Conception’s very first Kinderchoir!
