Anita Distler

My husband Bob and I have just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We have three daughters, and now a son-in-law. I attended ICS school from 1st thru 8th grad, was a member of the Brendan Club thru high school, sang in the Youth Group during weekly Mass with my brother Nick Fatica, Dan Davison, MaryLou and Nancy Reiner and Tom Sacher. My husband Bob and I were married here at Immaculate, and upon moving back to Willoughby after 10 years in Bedford, our daughters attended ICS School. I had helped with the CPU, joined parish council, and attended Bible study, and participated in the Adoration Chapel at 3:00 AM - the kids were asleep, so no worries about having to miss a day! I also work with my mother Rose Fatica every year cooking cavatellis for the Oktoberfest. Its something I love doing with my mother to help the parish. She has been doing it for 12 years, and as long as she is there, so will I! Things became harder when my husband suffered a stroke, and I began to work full time. I kept telling myself, when things slow down, I'll join some of the groups at church I always wanted to participate in. Well things never slow down! So after the stewardship program started, I did join the St Vincent DePaul Society and helped distribute food on the first Sunday of the month in Painesville. I was really interested in the ProLife group, and attended the Life Chain when I could. I also pray the rosary every day to stop abortion. I have recently joined the Pro Life Group, and also the Hospitality Committee. I look forward to becoming more and more involved with the parish community, and hope to be able to use whatever talents I have. My husband and I are thinking of joining the choir soon. Maybe I can get him to sign up to drive the van . . . . . . . .
